Cape Blanco is situated nine miles north of Port Orford, Oregon on a peninsula that juts out 1.5 miles into the Pacific Ocean which is the most westerly point in Oregon. The light began its service on December 20, 1870. After an extensive period of being close to the public, The lighthouse was again opened in 2003 after an extensive restoration project. The lighthouse is a beautiful landmark and well worth the trip to the southern Oregon coast.
